CCFA News 2011

 

On Friday 7th October 2011 the CCFA supplied a BBQ at the Northside Shopping Centre Coffs Harbour.
The BBQ was in aid of the "Block Party", a Free Youth Event presented by Headspace.
Headspace is a place that 12-25 year olds who have problems, can safely go for support, counselling, GP treatment for drug and alcohol abuse,
just to name a few. Thanks to Phil and Carmel Pobertson,Steve Morris and Alison Carter for their voluntary assistance.

On Saturday 24th September 2011 CCFA Chairman VWBro. Geoff Greenaway and Region 5 Masonicare Representative
RWBro. Norm Standing presented the Urunga Men's Shed with a Cheque for $4000.
This cheque represented a combined contribution of $2000 from the CCFA and $2000 from Masonicare.
The proceeds will be used to purchase new tools and machinery

Julie Jardine, Chairperson of the CANDO! Cancer Trust was presented with cheques amounting to $10,000.
$5000 was raised between the Giant Garage Sale held at the Coffs Harbour Masonic Centre in
May organised by Sonia Greenaway and also through the Charity Bowls Day
that took place at the Woolgoolga Bowling Club in July organised by Carolyn Boyden.
Masonicare matched the amount and donated another $5000.

Cando Cancer Trust Charity Bowls Day

 

The CEX. Woolgoolga Bowling Club was packed with people supporting the Cando Cancer Trust Charity Bowls Day on Sunday 31st August.
The event was opened by Ms Julie Jardine who thanked everyone for coming and explained that the Trust was regularly assisting
three to four families a week and that all money donated goes to patients in need who attend the North Coast Cancer Institute.
Two bowling greens were crowded with players and for the first time in this event carpet bowls were also being played indoors.
The Charity Bowls Day raised $3450 which exceeded the amount raised last year. This year Masonicare will match this amount dollar for dollar up to $3000.

The CCFA conducted a Garage Sale at the Coffs Harbour Masonic Centre
On Sunday 29th May 2011 to aid the CanDo Cancer Trust
The amount of money raised was $1278.50
Many thanks to all who participated in making the day so successful
